About Us > Our Mission
EDUCATE the public, especially parents and caregivers, about dangerous
children's products.
Following the death of their son, KID founders Linda
Ginzel and Boaz Keysar began an urgent email campaign to reach parents and caregivers.
Their message was received by hundreds of thousands of people from around the world.
Since then, KID has educated the public about dangerous children's products through our
programs, research reports, Public Service Announcements, a nationwide
recall awareness billboard campaign, and extensive coverage in the media. Kids In Danger and Danny Keysar's story have been featured
in People, Newsweek, US News and World Report, Child, Mother
Jones, Atlantic Monthly and Chicago Magazine. Television coverage includes
The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Today Show, CBS This Morning, 20/20,
Lifetime Live and Extra.
In an attempt to inform the public about the problems that dangerous children's products
pose to children, KID has worked with Marla Felcher, author of
It's No Accident: How Corporations Sell Dangerous Baby Products. Her work documents the injury and
death of children as a result of unsafe products and how product manufacturers
prioritize profits over child safety. It's No Accident serves as a call to action for parents
and caregivers to demand the development of safer children's products.
Through the development of a web site, KID has informed
people about the widespread danger of unsafe products and given them tools to protect their
children. In addition, KID has strengthened its outreach with
the development of Family Voices a group comprised of parents of victims of
children's products dedicated to helping KID prevent other needless injuries and deaths.
