Do you think that manufacturers should be required to test their children’s products, so that your baby is not the one who find out it is unsafe?

Do you think that recalled products that have hurt and killed children should not be resold, or used in childcare facilities?

If so, let your voice be heard! Let your representatives on both the state and federal levels know that you want to see safer children's products.

Federal Letter

Send this letter to your U.S. Senator or Representative, thanking them for their support of HR 4040, the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 and to ask them to carefully monitor the implementation process to make sure children's products are independently tested for safety before they are sold. However, if you are representated by Representative Ron Paul (R-Texas), Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC), Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) or Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ); they were the only legislators to vote against children's product safety.

I would like to thank you for voting for improved children's product safety in our country. Too many children are injured by unsafe products that reach the market without adequate testing or stay in homes and child care facilities long after a recall.

Thank you for voting for the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 2008 which will increase funding and authority for the CPSC, require premarket testing to strict standards for children's products and ban lead and other harmful substances from our children's toys.

I urge you to now take seriously Congress's oversight role in making sure the measures of this legislation are fully implemented.

This bill will keep dangerous products off store shelves and ensure that parents and caregivers learn about recalls when they happen.

You might also want to urge your representatives in Congress to support measures that:

We need a strong children’s product safety system. Please help consumers demand responsible manufacturing. Thank you

I would like to add my voice to those calling for improved children's product safety. I urge you to support the Children's Product Safety Act in (Your State). This language, adopted in seven states, protects children by prohibiting the sale or lease of dangerous children's products and eliminates dangerous products in our licensed childcare facilities.
