  • (2003 July) New TIN Materials

KID has developed new Test It Now! materials and is distributing them to local communities, the media, and other children's safety and consumer organizations nationwide. Nancy Cowles, KID's Executive Director, and Ellen Brinkerhoff, KID's Test It Now! Coordinator collaborated with organizations in Seattle, Boston, and Washington D.C. to dicuss innovative ways to reach the public about mandatory safety testing.

  • (2002 October) Meeting with CPSC

In October 2002, Nancy Cowles and Marla Felcher met with the CPSC Chair, Hal Stratton to discuss our concerns with the recall process. Later, in May 2003, KID participated in the CPSC meeting on "Motivating Consumers" to respond to recalls. We stressed the need to test children's products before they are in consumer's homes.

  • (2002 Fall)  Announcing TIN!

Test It Now! was announced in our Fall 2002 issue of our newsletter Action, reaching over 3,000 people! So far people are excited and receptive to the urgent message of the need to test children's products.
