We’re excited to introduce KID’s newest team of interns! Each of these talented individuals brings their own unique skills and fresh perspectives, but they all share one common goal: keeping kids safe. From research to advocacy, this crew will be contributing to some important work to help KID continue making a real difference. Let’s give a warm welcome to our fall interns:
Addie Tirone
Hello! My name is Addie, and I’m a pre-law political science student at Loyola University Chicago. I’m thrilled to be working with KID and fully support their mission to make children’s lives safer. I want to work with KID because their mission to protect children from dangerous products strongly resonates with my values and career goals. As a pre-law political science student, I am passionate about advocacy and the importance of policy in protecting vulnerable communities. I’m excited to contribute to reducing the number of child incidents, injuries, and fatalities caused by recalled products. A fun fact about me is that I enjoy thrifting clothes and transforming them into new pieces for my friends, family, and myself.
Abby Robbins
Hello! My name is Abigail Robbins, and I am excited to be starting my internship at KID! I’m a freshman at Loyola University Chicago, double majoring in Cognitive Behavioral Neuroscience and Psychology. In my free time, I love listening to music, drawing, and baking. I’m originally from Northern Virginia and lived there until moving to Chicago for college last fall. So far, I’ve enjoyed exploring all the exciting opportunities the city has to offer! A fun fact about me is that I find the ocean extremely interesting and am a certified scuba diver! Discovering KID has been an especially exciting opportunity because their mission closely aligns with my personal values. I worked as an assistant kindergarten teacher for five years and truly enjoyed working with children, especially in a role model capacity. This experience also taught me the importance of ensuring children’s safety, particularly from a product perspective. I look forward to contributing to the prevention of avoidable injuries through my work with the KID team!
Marisa Prasad
Hi! My name is Marisa Prasad. I am a Junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am majoring in Consumer Behavior and Marketplace Studies with two minors in Digital Studies and Entrepreneurship. I am particularly interested in interning at KID due to the meaningful motives driving their work and the impact KID aims to create. An interesting fact about me is that I have a twin sister!
KID is fortunate to have such a talented and dedicated group of interns this fall. As they continue to work on our ongoing efforts, we look forward to seeing the positive impact they’ll make. Stay tuned for updates on their projects and contributions throughout the season on our social media (@kidsindanger)!
