KID is thrilled to announce a new addition to the staff. Karen Yellen Dillon, an experienced fundraiser as well as an Emmy Award-winning TV producer has joined KID as Director of Development. Prior to joining Kids In Danger, Karen was fundraising and marketing for advocacy and education organizations including the Environmental Law and Policy Center and the Anti-Defamation League.
Karen’s connection to KID goes back many years. A former Emmy award winning TV producer and writer, Karen first learned about KID when she created a half hour special for WYCC-TV’s Small Talk for Parents with Zoraida Sambolin devoted to the issue of children’s product safety. KID continued to show that half-hour video to parents and caregivers for several years before developing our own Safe from the Start video for education.
Karen’s role at KID will be to lead a robust development plan to support KID’s lifesaving work and strengthen the organization for the future. We are thrilled to have her on board and look forward to watching KID grow with her support and guidance.
So you’ll be hearing more from Karen in the months ahead – perhaps if you are joining us for the 2014 Best Friend Award Night, you’ll meet her there! In the meantime, feel free to reach out to Karen via email or at the office – 312.595.0649.
