KID is a small organization, and to fulfill our life-saving mission we rely on a team of dedicated interns. Through programs like the University of Chicago Just in Time Summer Internship Program we have some great interns working with us this summer. They work on a wide variety of projects and issues, such as children’s product safety research, social media and blog writing, outreach and education, and advocacy. Meet KID’s summer 2023 interns below.
Jospeh Pino
My name is Joseph Pino and I am a rising sophomore studying economics and data science at the University of Chicago. So far with my time at KID, I have helped organize and format recall posts for social media, written blogs, and participated in community outreach events in low-income neighborhoods in Chicago. I am currently working on a data analysis project, formulating a comprehensive report on CPSC incident data. I am thrilled to be a part of this organization, furthering KID’s critical mission and helping contribute to meaningful societal outcomes. I look forward to continuing my work in this internship!
Larydon Noldred
My name is Larydon Noldred and I am interning with KID this summer. I am a rising sophomore at the University of Chicago and I am intending to double major in economics and public policy. I chose to intern specifically with KID because its mission of child advocacy aligns solidly with my public policy interests. It is also an opportunity to engage in something entirely different, as before my time with KID, I had never considered the engineering and design of child products and its effects/threats to child safety.
Ava Nutter
Hello! My name is Ava Nutter, and I am a rising senior at Loyola University Chicago studying Accounting. I am originally from the east coast but have moved out of Delaware to live in Chicago full-time. I love spending time with my friends, at the beach or with my sweet cat whose name is Fig (like the newton). I am super excited to join the team at KID as an intern!
