At Home
In addition to their sleep environments, infants and young children encounter many other products in the home that can pose safety hazards. Oftentimes, parents assume that the products available for sale are safe for use in homes with children. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. Some products, such as dressers, can pose severe tip-over hazards to young children, even though those products are not designed for children. Other products, such as baby gates, that are designed specifically for safety, can pose hazards as well.
